Cardiac Fibrosis

The cyclic contractile forces generated by heart tissues are essential for sustaining the rhythmic pumping action necessary for effective blood circulation. We aim to investigate how changes in the physical properties of the extracellular environment — particularly those observed in pathological conditions such as cardiac fibrosis — affect force generation through techniques such as micropillar arrays, with the goal of providing insights that may guide the development of potential therapeutic approaches.
